Pilgrim - definitely. Not for the buckle hat (or in my case as a woman, the white wing hat), but because that is what God has called me to be. My life as a believer and lover of Jesus is not about comforts and conveniences. In my case, the biggest earthly comfort and convenience that I want most is my family, right down the street. Here in Louisville, I am about 11 hours from my parents, and about 12-13 from my sister and brother. Hardly convenient for birthday get-togethers and family gatherings. We do enjoy being closer to the Bruno fam - a easy trip of 6 hours (providing Luke cooperates). Kentucky is the fourth state Chris and I have lived in (if you count our summer in Michigan after we married). We are in our fifth dwelling place (house, apt, etc.). Not exactly what a woman has in mind. But, I grumble about our situation a bit too much. It is one of my greatest struggles - embracing the role of a pilgrim. This earth is not my home. And, when I am honest with myself, I will remember that the same thing that would make me content and happy in Minneapolis or Wisconsin is the same thing that will satisfy me here in Louiville - Jesus Christ. When will I learn? God is so very patient with me.
