Our holidays are officially over. It's about time! Luke and I arrived back in Louisville this evening. It's not as warm here as I was hoping it would be, but all in all, we're still glad to be home and back with Chris. I suppose it's about time to get back to real life and quit galavanting all over the place. Our travels have taken us to the great mid-western states of Michigan (Christmas with the Bruno family), Minnesota (to see my new cutie-of-a-nephew) and Wisconsin (spending time with my family). Chris made it with us to all of the great states, but he was only able to visit Minnesota and Wisconsin for a few days before flying back to Lou for work and school.
I am definitely ready to get into a groove in 2006. Can you believe it's already 2006?! I remember my great anticipation of the year 2000. Chris and I had just started dating (on Dec. 29), and to show my affection for him, I made him a beautiful Jell-o masterpeice with a mold that said, "2000." Great, huh? I finally broke down and threw the mold away last year.
So, here are some highlights from our Christmas and New Year celebrations, in chronological order:
* a great, Christ-centered Christmas communion service at church
* a trip to Mall St. Matthews to see Santa Claus (Luke's reception of the Jolly Old Soul was less than ideal)
* watching Luke's reaction to the big stuffed dog we gave him for Christmas - if he could talk, he would have said, "Just what
I always wanted!!!!"
* spending Christmas Eve and Day with Chris' wonderful family (You know I love you!)
* driving to Hines Park for yet another viewing of the Christmas Light Display with Mom & Dad Bruno (that may be the end of
that tradition)
* spending 2 nights at home without Luke while he stayed with Grandpa and Grandma (of course we missed him terribly)
* taking Lukie on his first snowmobile ride and then taking a ride ourselves to see my parents' beautiful acreage
* traveling to Minneapolis to see Daniel, Molly, Grace, Paul and . . . dun da dun DUN . . . Elijah James Edwards Patz!
* spending time with my huge, loud, hectic family - playing Boggle (unfortunately, no Dutch Blitz this year - none of the
husbands like it), watching Mary Tyler Moore and HGTV (move over TLC!)
Note from Jan. 17 - I've delayed posting this for a few days to get some pictures up, but it hasn't happened - but they will come soon! Happy New Year!
Love - Katie

Boy Katie, you were missed in the blogging world! Once we returned home from our own holiday travels I checked your blogsite often for a new posting. I am a loyal Brunoblogite. :)
Wow, how was all that traveling with Luke? Great quips about your family and visiting moments. I can just picture them all around the Patz dining room table playing boggle.
Glad you're home safe and sound. Take care dear,
Al
