I hate for this special weekend to pass without wishing you a truly special and Christ-centered weekend as we celebrate Christ's death and especially his resurrection this Sunday. I think it's a sad thing most Christians and churches do by not giving very much thought or attention to this "holy day" other than singing "Up From the Grave He Arose", having a special dinner and indulging on candy. I personally am still going to dye Easter eggs and do other fun traditions with my kids. But, I pray that as our family grows, I will be diligent in establishing family traditions that really center on the resurrection of Jesus.
Noel Piper's book Treasuring God in Our Traditions is a must-have for all of us new moms desiring to have some traditions that are also Christ-centered. I would also like to get her booklet Lenten Lights. Anything you can get your hands by on Noel is well worth your time. Sadly, I have not been very diligent in my Easter preparations this year. God-willing I will be next year.
Praying that you have true reason to celebrate Jesus this weekend,
Katie
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

thanks for the book suggstions.
Sounds like a great book. Thanks for the reminder. Since I grew up with easter baskets and eggs I don't have anything to draw from for Christ-centered traditions. What a great sacrifice was made on the cross. I wish I could fully appreciate Christ's resurrection. Thank the Lord for the mystery of His love and saving grace.
Where did you find it? Interesting read » »
