Well, I think I've covered all of the big events of the past week. This week has flown by; I've been so busy! The packing mania has begun, and today we reached our goal of getting the garage in ship-shape condition. There was a lot of boxes in there full of books, school stuff, childhood stuff, etc. We went through everything, and probably threw at least half of the stuff away (or are selling/donating it). I LOVE throwing junk away! (I have to shout out a BIG thanks to my sweet husband for all of the books he parted with.) We also packed up some books and toys from the house. I only have one more day left before our family gets here for the graduation. So, now my focus is on laundry and cleaning the house.
Both of our parents are coming tomorrow evening. Even Annabelle might come! I'm SO excited to see my parents. Friday will be a busy day, with the graduation at 10am, then lunch out, and a BBQ with friends and neighbors that night. My parents fly out rather early on Saturday morning, then Chris and I are going on a much longed-for weekend get-away! We're going to spend two nights in Nashville while Chris' parents stay here with Luke. We are so thankful that they are willing to do this for us. This will be the first time we've been able to get away alone since our first anniversary. This time we'll be celebrating our fifth! (The actually anniversary isn't until June 2.)
So, next week I should have some great pictures to share. And for once, they won't all be of Luke! :) Hope ya'lls (I had to say it. My days as a Southerner - though most would argue that KY isn't really "the south" - are numbered) week has been grand. Congratulations, dear Shyla. You're going to be such a great mom.

You & Chris deserve this weekend away!! Go for it and enjoy yourselves that is for sure!!
Have fun with family!
I can't wait to see you and Chris and your little man that will be tomorrow night, I can't believe it.
Your blog makes me either laugh or tear up. Thank you for all your kind words about your mother, only by God's grace do you have the good memories.
of course concerning your tv shows that was not interesting to me, but makes me curious.
I love you
Mom
We look forward to having you and the fam in Michigan for awhile. I don't envy the poor suckers that have to move that piano! On the bright side, maybe you could teach our kids a few things on it while you are in the area? They already play better than I ever will!
Congratulations! Enjoy your weekend away together. The picture of you and Luke looks great.
Woo-hoo! Glad to hear your packing is going so well. :) Now I won't have to keep bugging you about it . . .
How fun to be able to get away with Chris for a little while! ENJOY! So weird. . . I don't think I would be able to talk about anything but Chloe if Matt and I ever had a date. :) Happy 5th anniversary, dear!
I'm envisioning you in a beautiful navy dress for Chris' graduation. :)
Have a fabulous time together on your getaway! Enjoy reconnecting again after such a hectic time!
So many things going on for you right now! Wow, congrats to finishing that degree! I'm only on the beginning end of that road right now and know that i'll be just as excited when that day comes for tom in 3 yrs.
What great fun to have the family there with you and then to take off for the much needed vacation for the two of you. I'm sure that will be a lot of fun for you both.
Congrats on the upcoming 5 yr. anniversary...can't believe it's been that long already.
I empathize with you on the packing...not really a lot of fun there. And then moving away from friends that you've come to know...hard stuff. But you do have family to look forward to seeing and that does help the transition.
Hope your day has gone well. Congrats to chris.
That's a great story. Waiting for more. »
