Guilty Pleasures

I just need a platform today, to vent my thoughts and feelings about some of my favorite TV shows. Lately, there have been some great episodes! If you're behind on LOST, you may not want to read that paragraph.

LOST:

Whoa! These past new episodes have been GREAT! I have to say, I'm glad that Anna Lucia finally got killed off. :) She drove me absoultely insane! But, I was floored at who actually pulled the trigger! I'm convinced that he has been brainwashed by "the others." And poor, POOR Hurley! I love that guy, and felt so sad for him. Also, Sawyer is redeeming himself in my eyes. I guess I have a soft spot for bad guys.

Survivor Panama Exile Island:

Last week, my least favorite outcast finally got voted off. Shane drove me nuts the entire show. But, I have to say, after watching him on Survivor Live the next day, I really grew to like the guy! One thing is true about Shane Powers: he never lied and doubled-crossed anybody (I don't think). He was in-your-face and annoying to everyone, but he wasn't a hypocrite (except for when he was kissing Bruce's tushy). In his interview on Survivor Live, he really seemed like a genuine and honest man. He voiced a lot of respect for Terry and no respect for the remaining Casaya members, so that made me like him a lot too. The fact that I actually LIKE Shane, is so ironic. (I've almost thrown my remote control at him at least a dozen times.)

And now for my favorite: The Office!

Last night was the season finale. I probably never would've watched this show if Chris didn't like it. It's pretty satirical, and the humor is different, so some people don't really like it. It has me cracking up every Thursday night though. Michael is over-the-top absurd, and Dwight, though sometimes absolutely disgusting, is hilarious. Michael & Dwight are probably Chris' favorite characters, but for me, my favorite part about The Office is it's only real continuous plot and story line: Pam & Jim! For those of you who don't watch the show (although, it may be doubtful that you're reading this), Pam is the receptionist at Dunder Mifflin, and is engaged to Roy, a guy who works in the warehouse. Roy is a loser, doesn't appreciate Pam, in the least, and has been putting off actually getting married. Enter Jim, a sales associate at DM. Jim is an average Joe, with a great sense of humor. He's caring, kind and Pam's best friend. You get the picture - there SO is an attraction between Pam & Jim. I think it's really great acting, actually - just to see the two interact. All feeling is conveyed only through facial expression and eye contact. Well, lest I bore you, last night, the company had a casino night to raise money for charity, and Jim finally had enough and told Pam he was in love with her. (Roy had left early, saying he was "tired." He probably went out partying on his own. Loser.) Pam is in total denial about the whole situation. She was "shocked" and ran up to the office to call her mom. Jim comes in, walks over to her, and gives her a smooch! End of show. Finally! So, it was the perfect season finale for me. But, now I have to wait all summer to season what happens between Jim & Pam! The writers of this show better not disappoint.

I LOVE the office too! That humor cracks me up! But, I'm allowed to watch it only when CSI is a rerun. Geoff & I have been hooked on CSI since before marriage. It's the only night Geoff doesn't study the entire night. :) I HOPE the office will have reruns this summer.

I've seen only a couple episodes of The Office, but I like it, too. The humor is definitely different; I LOVE Steve Corel (sp?) and think he is completely hysterical!

Survivor brings back memories. At NBBC, Sara Kelsey(now Golden) and I had to have our weekly dose of Survivor. We would make bean dip in a 9-inch pie plate and eat the WHOLE THING as we screamed at the TV and tried to guess what was coming. :)

Our 2 shows are 24 and The King of Queens.

Pam: I never did get into CSI, but I know a lot of people like it. I have too many shows I watch already!

Karen: We like King of Queens too! Jerry Stiller cracks me up!

I don't watch tv at all but I've heard the office is a winner. Maybe I'll have to start . . . that Pam character reminds me of Julie Douglas. :)

The only show we watch is LOST - and we haven't missed an episode. I am looking forward to this week's show - it's looking good!

I love LOST. It is much better to watch after it comes out on DVD though. I was so glad they killed off Ana Lucia too. It's funny that they killed off the 2 actresses that got arrested for drunk driving - though I did feel bad for Hurley.
