We've had a rough go of it lately - Luke and I. Luke hasn't felt well this week (I suspect a painful tooth coming in soon), and has been extra stuffed up and unable to sleep easily in his bed. We've spent hours together on the couch at night, while Chris is alone in the bed. Many times my body is shocked by the exhaustions it's not used to! But, often I've enjoyed cuddling and holding this little ball of energy that can't stop for more than a minute in the daytime.
Tomorrow is my second Mother's Day (not including the Mother's Day that I was pregnant). In two short weeks, we're moving away from Louisville, which gets me thinking about how much has changed and progressed in the last two years. Lukie was born 5 weeks after moving here from Minneapolis, and now he's running all over the place, learning to hit a baseball (with his tee ball set), and practicing his jumping techniqes! He loves to wrestle with his daddy, watch Pooh, loves to read his books, and loves to sing and dance! He is a charmer, a coniver, a trickster, a sweetie pie.
So, tomorrow I look forward to spending a relaxing day with my great husband and little man. But, there are several other amazing moms in my life that I'm so thankful for. Of course, my own mom is the queen bee on my mama list. How she ever raised all five of us from infanthood and now has the energy to chase Marco and Antonio around is beyond me! She is such a huge source of support, encouragement, and learning in my life. Most of the ways I do things, I do because that how she does them. I am so thankful for her. It makes me sad to live far from her, but she taught me to love Jesus and my husband most of all; and she set such an amazing example of a wife and mom that continues to guide me as I live my own life here in Louisville, and soon in Detroit. I'm missing you today, Mom.
She who finds a godly and loving husband finds a good thing. And she who finds a godly and loving husband who has a godly and loving mother is doubly blessed! I don't know too many women who enjoy the close relationship that I do with my mother-in-law. I truly feel loved like a daughter. Chris' mom is one of the kindest and most generous people that I've ever known, and she is most kind and generous to her own family.
And finally, I'm blessed to have two grandma's still in my life. God graced both Chris and I with a childhood full of memories with our grandmas. How special it has been to have grandma's who love us (and spoil us).
I pray that this Mother's Day is a happy one for you. I, for one, will give thanks and praise to God for his good gifts to me, especially my moms.

I hope you are having a wonderful day today, katie! you deserve it! i too hope that you were able to get more sleep last night!
Happy Mother's Day to you also. Hope that you were able to relax a little bit. You are a great mama to Lukie, and I've seen God impart you with wisdom I've been able to glean from. Thanks for all the help you've given me!
Knowing your sweet mom even just a little bit allows me to add a hearty "I agree" at the end of this one! She's a gem - - - and it clearly rubbed off on her kids! '
I can't wait to meet your little Luke when you move this way soon. Which reminds me - does Chris need job leads? - We sometimes get them here at the sem, and I'd be glad to pass them along!
Very encouraging post! I'm not even a mom, but I have to admit, your post made me want to be :o)
Thank you for your sacrifice as a mother!
