Delay in Scotland Posts

Wouldn't you know, our laptop crashed again and we have to send it in. All of my journals and pictures are on that computer, so I'll have to wait until we get it back to continue with Day 2 and onward. I know you all are just dying to read the next installment! :)

We have an iBook, and our Apple Care runs out in October. It's pretty much a certain thing that repairs will be needed after that, so if we can't extend our Apple Care, we're considering what computer should be our next purchase. I think we're both sold on Apple - even me, and it took me a while! I have to say, Apple Care is QUALITY service. During a rare visit to Best Buy last week, I noticed the technology service counter and said to Chris, "Do you miss bringing our computer there for service?" We both chuckled and sighed with relief. When we owned a Compaq laptop before, we had NOTHING but trouble, and Best Buy was pretty much a nightmare to deal with.

One great thing we learned during our visit to the University of Aberdeen is that all PhD students are issued laptops. So, we are considering just getting an Apple desktop. What's your opinion? What computer do you have/use, and do you like it?

Michayla just flew into Detroit yesterday (YAY!), and tomorrow she is driving up to WI with Lukie and me. We'll be helping with wedding plans for the rest of the week, and on Saturday the 5th, April and Scott will enter wedded bliss. I'm excited for a happy trip home and look forward to spending time with everyone. Chris is taking a train to Milwaukee on Thursday and driving up with Matthew that night (Matthew's been living in Milwaukee this summer.) So, we're on the move once more, and my parents don't have the internet at home, so who knows when I'll get to blog again, but I'm sure I'll have great pictures to share when I get back!

I have limited apple experience so I can't make an informed statement on them. I have a dell desktop which I really love!

Have a wonderful week up nort helping with the wedding preparations! How terrifically fun!!! April is going to be a gorgeous bride. Did you ever find a tan suit for Luke?

What is Matthew doing in Milwaukee this summer? Milwaukee was our home (and still is in our minds) for several years and it is dear to us.

I think it depends on what you like. John has a mac and loves it. I prefer the PC. yes, we are strange enough to have two computers because of this dilemma.

As to the digital scrapbooking comment...I just print it out on the cheapest photo paper I can find, and then just put them in regular scrapbooks. A good link if you are ever interested is www.digitalscrapbookplace.com. Thanks for keeping in touch, and I will keep Maggie away from the wedding this weekend if Luke is going to be there...just kidding!

We like Macs best; it helps that Jim's brother is a Mac expert and can talk us through any problems. We have an older iMac; hoping to upgrade eventually! From what I hear from many friends about their PCs, I'm glad we have the Mac. Seems like PCs in general have a lot more problems.

Have a great time at your sister's wedding!!

BTW, I really enjoyed your Scotland post and am looking forward to more when you get the laptop back. :) That is a place I would LOVE to visit someday!

Well, we have an iBook, and I love it. Let me tell ya though, I'm a total computer loser, so I like it because it's really easy. Congrat's to April. I can't believe she's getting married!

John said that if you are used to macs...stick with the mac. If you are used to the PC...stick with the PC. Otherwise you are trying to learn a new system and might just frustrate yourself.

We switched to macs about 2 years ago and love it. Tina was not shure what I got her into but now she loves it. I even got GT to buy an iMac. Now he goes around telling people how he loves his mac. BTW he never said that about his pc.
