Prayer Request

This morning my grandpa went into the ER, and the drs. suspect that he might have bacterial pnemonia - a dangerous situation for even a young person. My grandpa turned 89 in June and has had various health complications in the last year. He is fairly weak to begin with; the doctors have told us that he has a 1 in 3 chance of pulling out of this. His vital signs have improved since being admitted, but it's somewhat of a waiting game at this point.

I spent Friday night & Saturday morning with my grandparents. They came with my mom to bring Luke to me. This time with him was a gift from God, but I still want to go there. Since Chris is flying back in only a few days, it doesn't seem best to go right now. We'll see what the situation is on Friday. All of my siblings are going home, which makes it more difficult for me not to go. There have been many times over the past 2 years when it's been hard for me to be the only one not home. This time particularly sucks. (Pardon my french.) Please pray for my grandpa - that he would experience minimal pain, whatever God's will is. Pray that I would trust in God's goodness and sovereignty this week as Luke & I stick it out without Chris. Luke's a good stand-in for his dad and offers me long comforting bear hugs when I cry. Seriously, I'm amazed at how perceptive and sensitive he is.

Thanks - Katie

We are praying for your grandpa and that you'd be able to make the right decisions in the days to come. Praise God that you were able to spend some time with your grandpa just a few days before he got sick. I am so sorry that Chris can't be with you right now!

We'll be praying for your family also. It's so hard to be away from family during difficult times. Your grandpa and grandma are such a blessing.
