Happy to Be Home in Motor City

Luke and I arrived back Thursday evening, and were we ever glad to pull into the driveway and see Chris! The return trip is always difficult, losing an hour and all. I was also pretty tired, but we made it with only 2 stops and the purchase of one Little Einsteins movie. The color of the leaves on my drive up to WI was phenomenal! I have never seen such beautiful colors and was wishing that someone else was with me to enjoy the view (Luke doesn't fully appreciate fall beauty yet). I couldn't really take pictures while I was driving, so I stopped at a senic overlook and we hiked up to a deck to take some pictures. I was pretty disappointed when we reached the top and the view was full of green trees. Bummer. We still got a picture anyway.

As mentioned on the one post that I sqeezed out while I was visiting my family, I didn't have access to the internet pretty much the whole time I was there. And I was too busy to go up to campus and blog. Sorry but my fam is more fun! :) We had two days with Janelle and her troop - enough time to get to know each of the kids a bit. They are such cuties and each so different. And when you get a little pooped out by the 3 toddlers, its so much fun to pick Anna out and chill out with her. What a precious baby! She cracked me up with her spitting antics.

Once Janelle and the kids headed back to Jason and the dust settled, my mom and I started the week-long process of the kitchen and backhall. On Saturday we had dinner at my grandma's and celebrated her birthday. It was fun to see my aunt and her family too.

Sarah drove out on Sunday afternoon to spend the day with us. We had fun just hanging out, catching up and helping April wrap (and eat) the caramels she made. (yum) Luke was ham, as usual. He seems to have some sort of crush on Sarah. Yikes. I gotta keep an eye on this boy!

Monday, Luke and I drove to my grandma's and spent the day and night with her. We went to school to see Aunt Mary both Monday and Tuesday mornings. Luke liked all the kids and especially seeing Aunt Mary. Monday night after supper Grandma cut Luke's hair. He was SO good (with help from a Tootsie Pop). After Aunt Mary gave him a bath, they played with Play Dough and colored. And since Luke didn't really eat a good supper, Mary made him pancakes (he ate FIVE, counet 'em. Five!) What a spoiled little boy!

Wednesday was my mom's birthday, and we started off the celebrating by eating at one of my favorite Northern Wisconsin locations: The Kimbrough's!!! Aunt Vickie is a phenomenal cook. Then on Wednesday, my mom, April, my grandma, Luke and I went to Marinette and did some shopping and enjoyed a Thai restaurant for lunch.

Well, I guess those are the nitty, gritty details - unembelished, and rather boring. I guess ya gotta go to Ace's Place to get some action.

I do have a teensy, bit more exciting news thatI'll be blogging about on Monday. Guess who has tickets to Game 1 of the World Series? Yeehaw!!

HOW DID YOU GET TICKETS?!?!?

Chris has lots of free time at work and is frequently on the internet; and it is kind of miraculous that he was able to get through - I guess most people were unable to. We have standing-room-only tickets, so we'll be standing. We're leaving in about a half hour and will get a bite to eat downtown before we get to the park, like 2 and 1/2 hours early. Chris is pretty excited. I am too. :) Hopefully we'll win. Go Tigers!!!
