More Important Things, Like Caramel Apples

I haven't blogged much lately. I have to admit that the honeymoon phase of blogging is over for me. That and I've been busy with other things in life. Mostly I've just been busy doing this and that. And some of life's most serious issues have brushed past me and have made blogging the furthest thing from my mind.

We're doing ok; Luke is fighting a cold. I have hopes of being at church on Sunday, but my hopes aren't too high. I am flabbergasted that it is November 3! I keep feeling like summer just got over and am looking forward to enjoying fall. It is astounding how time flies by. Here we are, looking at Thanksgiving coming up in just a few weeks. In about a week, Chris will be heading to D.C. to go to ETS, and I'm hoping to make a trip down to The Ville. Then we'll be heading up north to spend Thanksgiving with my family.

Tonight I had a great plan to make caramel apples with Lukie. As I sat at the table peeling the wrappers off of the caramels, I recalled fond memories of doing that with my mom at home when I was a kid. Too bad I didn't remember that my mom added a bit of water to the caramels when she melted them. These caramel apples are hard as rocks, and now my jaw is sore because I tried to eat one. I'm afraid the apple that is left is destined for the trash can. O well.

So, the moral of this post is twofold:

1. Enjoy yourself and family today. Today. Even if it's Saturday and you're still in your jammies. Life goes by so quickly.
2. And don't forget to add water when you're making caramel apples.

I agree that TIME FLIES, we've gotta enjoys these cutie pie boys while we have a chance- last night I taught Isaac to answer, "No, gross!" when I ask him, "Do you want to get married someday?" Ofcourse, I don't really want him to feel that way forever, but he can be mine far at least the next 18 years:)

Christine,

I'm afraid that I taught Luke to say, "Shoot. Argghh!" when I almost missed a turn today while driving. I guess it could've been worse. :) He is like a parrot - literally repeating everything I do. Of course, this is very cute, but scary. :)

Katie,
The same thing happened to Jonny the other day when someone in front of us made a driving error-"Idiot!"... from the back seat, "Idiot!"... of course he felt awful and we justed looked at each other realizing it has begun!

Thanks for the tip about the caramel. Of course now they have caramel wraps that you just place on the apple and melt.

Thanks for the caramel apple tip. I've never made them before and I would have made that same mistake!

Our lives sure are vapors - it's so weird to watch time flying by in Chloe's rapid growth. I just look at her and think, 15 months have gone by?!?!

Amen! I go through blogging phases also, but I try to only use the computer when my daughter is in bed and my husband is at work. :) We're going to be in D.C. this weekend, just miss the ETS conference.
