This Just In: Some GREAT News!

Yesterday afternoon, Chris received an email from Wheaton College informing him that he has been recommended as a finalist to interview for the PhD program there! This is super exciting news for us. I don't know how many people applied, though I would be really interested. He is now one of 17 people who will be interviewing for one of the six PhD slots at the school. Wheaton provides a full scholarship for it's PhD students, along with a fellowship. His interview will be on February 19th or 20th.

I told you my husband was a genius! :)

Wow! Tell Chris I said Congrats. That is awesome -- even just to be considered! We will be praying for his acceptance. I think Julie and I will be in Chicago that same weekend to visit Trinity.

Praise the Lord - we've been praying for you guys. I have heard about the requirements to get into the program there. That would be awesome if it worked out for you all.

FANTASTIC news! Way to go Chris! We'll be praying over here. Plus, maybe all 17 of the finalists won't show up for the interviews? I imagine most people apply for several places and maybe some didn't seriously want in at Wheaton. What a n exciting opportunity! Will all of you guys be traveling to Chicago-land for the interview?

Thanks for all of the congrats and prayers. I'm sure Chris will read them. We are excited, but trying to be cautious and not get our hopes up too much. We will be traveling to Chicago for the interview; we had actually made plans already to go that weekend to visit Trinity, Tim. Though I'm not sure if Chris will go to that still. Southern is a more likely (economical) choice for us if Wheaton doesn't work out, providing that Chris gets accepted at Southern.
