This time, a rock really HAS fallen from the sky!

All rocks that come from the sky are good; all are sent by God, in his sovereign goodness and graciousness. Hopefully you'll know that I'm referring to life-changing events that throw us off guard. The last time I used this phrase, we had received disappointing news that changed our course, leading us away from Scotland. God, in his providence and protection over us, had led Chris to go through much effort to take the GRE in December and send applications to 3 schools in the states. Then, we were super excited when Chris received an invitation to interview at Wheaton College & Graduate School - a very difficult program to get into. We knew that the odds were not in our favor, so when news came in early March that Chris did not get accepted there, we were disappointed, but had peace that God was leading us back to our former home: Louisville, KY. During the last month, we've enjoyed looking at houses in Louisville, planning our new move and future there. We looked forward to being back with old friends and a great church. In fact, last Tuesday Chris got his official acceptance letter from Southern. We were thankful to be assured that we had a spot at SBTS; after all the twists and turns that have transpired in the last several months, we were not taking anything for granted!

Enter one final and amazing twist. Late Friday morning, Chris got a voicemail from a professor at Wheaton. When Chris called him back, the man explained that the candidate they originally offered the spot to has chosen to go elsewhere. They would really like Chris to come and be a part of their program.

!?????!??????!????!??????!!!!!!!?!!!!!!!?!!!!!!?!!!!!!?!!!!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In one minute, our plans changed again; and this time, it looks like they have changed definitely and permanantly. There is no more waiting. This offer is one that we can't refuse. We feel God has opened a door, and we are gladly walking through it!

So, on to plan X, or whatever letter we're at now. We passed Plan B a long time ago.

Congratulations! Although I am bummed you won't be moving to Louisville. I thought we could trade babysitting services.

Congrats! Wheaton's program looks sweet and it is definately an honor to get into. Lord willing we may be "neighbors" again; we're hoping to be moving to the Chicago area in the next few months too for further schooling, though nothing that sweet :-)
