Catch-Up

Whoa, I feel like I'm in the tournament of Catch-up! If that doesn't make sense to you, just blame it on my being prego. I probably don't make much sense these days, I guess. But, after a whopping 3.5 weeks, I think that I shall perhaps now have access to the world wide web again! Yippee!! Yahoo!!!! Hooray!!!! I am a bit overwhelmed at catching up - with 100+ new posts to read, according to Google Reader. Not to mention actually downloading pictures so my family & friends can see pics of our new pad. Not to mention that I never downloaded vacation pics or Tiger's games pics or who knows what else.

But, in a nutshell (flashback to Dr. Lindsay's Gospels class - AUGGHH!), our move has gone fairly well, other than that horrible event of my grandma breaking her arm in our bathroom the day after we bought the place. Fortunately, no legal action will be taken. My poor grandma is still miserable though, as it was a VERY painful break, just below her shoulder.

Luke did great in the first few days - and has continued to do well, though we have had some snags come bed time. This week he has showed some very strong will at bedtime, and since we moved has woken up at least once a night. But, I actually do too sometimes, so I guess we're all just getting used to sleeping in a new place. We love our new home though and are so thankful for God's leading us here!

As for me & Chris, we're doing fine & dandy. Chris spends a flexible 6 hours a day in the library up at the school - preparing for his German test among other things. But, it's a pretty flexible schedule right now before schools starts, so we enjoy extra time with him each day. I'm just trying to keep up with the energy of my 3 year old - something I'm failing miserably at. It helps that we have a nice pool in our condo community and a park nearby, but the muggy weather also makes me want to stay inside! I've been feeliing great and have nothing to complain about. I feel the baby move a lot these days, and the ultrasounds that I had right before moving indicated that everything was healthy with the baby. Oh, I guess I haven't mentioned on Blogger, that IT'S A BOY! Oops, that one slipped through the cracks. Too much other stuff going on here! Anyways, I guess my only complaint about this pregnancy is really not my own complaint at all! It turns out, I haven't really gained much weight yet - about 2 pounds. Last week, I went to the Health Department for a WIC appointment, and of course the nutritionist got out her chart and scale and showed me how abnormal my weight gain (or lack thereof) is. Consequently, I have to attend a prenatal class in October and have my weight gain checked. Puleeaasse!!!!! I have to say, I've never been in this situation before in my life! I haven't been trying to diet during this pregnancy, and have enjoyed my fair share of seconds in the name of "I'm eating for two." :)

So, that's it for tonight. It's late, and Luke will probably be waking in a few hours. He usually rouses around 4 for some reassurance from Mama and falls asleep minutes later, which leaves me wide awake for usually an hour or so. Sigh. Hope ya'll are doing well. Enjoy these last few weeks of summer!

Shyla: 6 Days left?!? That's great! Are you ready for the baby? More important, is Jackson? :) I've heard one of the positives about having kids close together is the first one isn't old enough to have too difficult a time adjusting. That's why I get a little worried about Luke - 3.5 years of being the only child. Yikes! But, we'll get through the transition I know. :)

Janelle: I'll try to take some pics today as I clean up the house for company tonight.

Yay! Thanks for the much needed update. Glad the transition time is going so smoothly for you all - thanks be to God! I'm sure Luke will settle into the new place before you know it. I've heard that big life changes like that are hard on 2-3 year olds.

Ick, when does Chris have to take his German test? Has he studied German previously?

How do you like your new area? Can't wait to see pix of the new place - and you MUST post a picture of your small 2 lb. belly. :)

Bad news! we're anxiously awaiting the discovery of our camera cord. Augh! I'm so frustrated - we can't find it anywhere. And I got every room really picked up and took all of the pictures too! Pray I find it.

Sorry I'm so late in posting a comment to your electricity story. I'm sure glad you didn't lose your water to boot. That would have been a horrid combination.

Is Luke doing any better on his sleeping in your new place?

Way to go on your weight gain! Hopefully that will make it easier to shed when your little boy arrives. Thus far I'm right on the mark - you're supposed to gain 10 lbs. by 20 weeks and I'm there. I hope to stay on track with swimming and walking.
