I love having my own kitchen again and all of my beloved red back! This kitchen is small (9x9), but has proved to be pretty functional so far. There's just enough room for my 35lb. live-in help. :)
I was really happy with this color yellow. I think it looks great with the red and doesn't make the kitchen look too formal, but cheery.
Here are my gliders: We bought the rocker before Luke was born. It's seen lots of miles in the last 3 years and is tuned up and ready for more! And the loveseat is actually a gliding rocker too! I think this will come in very handy when I have a newborn to rock and a 3 year old who still loves to rock too with Mama.
This couch is also a sofa-sleeper, which comes in handy with visiting guests. You know how comfortable sofa sleepers can be though, so we usually pull the mattress onto the floor. Chris' grandma gave us this couch and the loveseat when we moved from Michigan. They are not even 3 years old and are good for kids because they hide lots of spills and stains. What a blessing!
This view is from the main entrance to the condo. The patio doors you see also have locks on them, so that is the main entrance during warmer months. We'll probably put the couch in front of those doors when it gets cold outside.
When we moved to IL, we didn't have a table and chairs, but before our furniture arrived (3 days after Chris and I had come), I had picked up this table and 4 chairs for $125! I bought them through Craigslist; the table has a leaf too that stores right in the table and easily folds out - no lifting involved!
This is our main bathroom. My friend Sarah gave me the shower curtain and rugs (SO nice! I guess I gushed about them a little too much when I saw them in her apt. earlier that year!), so I picked the color to match: "Miami Spice." I didn't get this bathroom painted until after we settled in, so Luke was with me. He kept asking what color it was and enjoyed saying "Miami Spice" all day. :)
I have plans to put shelving into their awkward cubby hold in the wall. One of these days . . .
The toys. I don't know what our family is going to give Boy #2 for gifts, but he will NOT need toys!
The Big Boy's bed. And the broken lamp.
The Little Boy's crib. I have since gotten the bedding and will have to take a picture of that to show you. It's baby blue and white gingham.
I bought this bedding with birthday money in February, but saved it to use until we moved. It was fun to put our room together and have new bedding! I need to find something to put over the bed . . .
I can't wait to get new blinds and curtain over this window! I found red curtains at Walmart a few weeks ago - on clearance for $5 a panel. Woohoo!
The master bathroom. It still needs to be painted; I'll probably just use the same brown color as in the bedroom, because I have enough left and wouldn't have to buy
more.
BTW, do you have a nasty shower door you need to clean? I have 3 letters for you: CLR. That stuff is amazing!
I also have a laundry room that was pretty dusty, dirty and dingy . . . until yesterday! I finally took the plunge and painted it; I just used leftover green paint from the boys' room. It looks a million times better! Before and after pictures to come. I'm still waiting for the paint to dry before I put everything back.

what a beautiful house! is that a real live fireplace???
The fireplace is a real gas fireplace. But, we're not sure how great it works; we'll probably have it replaced. I think they're relatively inexpensive (150-200?), and my f-i-l could install it.
everything looks great! i like all the colors. esp. the kitchen. very cute. :)
i love your house katie! you decorated it and painted it so perfectly. i can't wait to see it in person. love you.
Super cute - love the colors you chose!
Very nice:)
Where did you find your bedding? I'm looking for something different for our bedroom and I like that!
Thanks
Malissa
Malissa: I got the bedding at Target. It's nothing fancy. I don't think they carry it anymore though. It is so fun to get new bedding for a change!
