Tonight we got our Christmas tree up and decorated. I now give this baby full permission to make his entrance to the world NOW! :) (Actually, give me a day, and I'll have all remaining jobs on my list done.) I seriously am so ready to get this little sack of potatoes out! By the end of the day, I feel 80 years old and walk like I'm 80 years old too! My back just quits and all sorts of unmentionables are screaming in protest until I lay down for the night. After a decent night of sleep, everything has calmed down, but we can only take this abuse for so long! :) Another funny thing - Chris and I are no longer sleeping in the same bed together. Apparently, towards the end of pregnancy, I snore worse than usual, and he just can't get a good night of sleep. So, we've given in, and he just puts the sofa-bed mattress on the living room floor and goes to bed there. I guess he'll be happy when the baby comes too, so he can sleep in his own bed again!
I suppose you could say that I'm "nesting." But, I think that "nesting" is misunderstood. It's not really something that you innately want to do, but rather a frenzy of work and cleaning that you know you'll regret if you don't do. Yesterday and today I knocked out a myriad of little cleaning/organizing projects - cleaning my gross kitchen blinds (I didn't clean them before because I just wanted to replace them, but that isn't happening anytime soon. The cleaned-up blinds actually look great!), washing out the humidifiers, organizing drawers, organizing baby stuff, ironing, washing sheets. All these things are great to get out of the way; but the problem is, if the baby doesn't come soon, I'll have to do some of them all over again! Ideally, I will finish getting my house all cleaned, dusted and vacuumed, and then Little Harold (if you're in my fam) or Little Kiefer (if you're in Chris' fam) will arrive!
I have some great pictures to post from our Thanksgiving with April and Scott. We had such a great time with them! They are some of the greatest aunts and uncles out there and played with Luke LOTS. They also aided in the creation and decoration of a very cute gingerbread house. I also have pictures of getting our tree tonight. I really prefer to cut our tree down - to avoid getting a dead-as-a-doornail tree and also as as fun outing; but we really wanted to have the easiest and quickest possible experience. Everything went off without a hitch - so far. We'll see if the tree falls down. I don't think it will. :) Luke had a ball decorating the tree and especially putting the star on top; and afterwards he did some sweet "tricks" and "moves" (my family will know how great his tricks and moves are!) for us and danced to some Bing. I had a nice time reading some Christmas books from the library with him by the tree and snuggling with him extra long in bed. His favorite thing is for me to tell him the story of when our puppy Honey got lost in the woods on Christmas Eve. He loves hearing stories from when I was little. He's such a sweetie, and I had a great day with him.
Cross your fingers, and you'll see those pictures tomorrow or Saturday. :)
Merry Christmas!

Wow, girl! I'm so excited for you to be done with your pregnancy!!! Are the docs/midwives saying you're ready to go yet or could go early?
Thanks for the reminder to do some extra child-snuggling while we still can. I feel so wrapped up in Christmas and baby-preparation projects that I don't think about soaking up this good Chloe time much.
I hear ya, we moved into separate beds at least a month ago. :) I need my space now that I'm so huge and uncomfortable!
Hang in there, praying for you.
