Chris has been pestering me for not writing in several days. It has almost been a week since I've posted anything. I have to admit, I've been obsessed a bit with the blogging thing. My favorite thing to do is to go to a friend's blog (or acquaintance, as I don't have many friends who have blogs) and look at the blogs that they provide links to. So, I wind up reading a complete stranger's blog. Then, Chris comes up behind me and thinks I'm a total loser and have way too much time on my hands. O brother. I just think other people's blogs are interesting. If there's a blog out there that actually belongs to someone I know, by all means, please Email me!
I haven't had an abundance of time to sit down and write what I think is a quality post, but Chris says they do not all have to be "articles." Anyhoo . . .
Chris is in his 3rd week of classes. He has a somewhat lighter class load this year, but will make up for it by working lots on his thesis. Have I mentioned that my husband, Chris, is a genius? Well, he is. And, no, I'm not biased. It's true. Really. It is something that I am often thankful for, because the life of a student - especially when there is a spouse and child involved - can be pretty hairy. And I have to say, Chris rarely gets stressed and has ALWAYS done great in school. His grades continue to be right up there. I'm praying that he will pass on his academic prowess to our children. He also works about 25 hours a week at Starbucks. In short, my husband is amazing. I'm afraid I don't tell him this often enough. He does great at the responsibilities God has given him. He is a super father; I love watching him play with Luke. And he is a patient and loving husband, and trust me, I require lots of patience and love.
Luke and I are in our 2nd week of babysitting two kids about 3 hours each morning. This week has gone really well. Luke really loves playing with other kids every day, and he comes home exhausted and ready for a nap (me too). He is working on two more top teeth, so he's been a little cranky sometimes; but other than that, he's doing great. He loves music, and this morning after his nap, I put a CD on and was dancing with him a bit (to "Thank God I'm a Country Boy"). He had his cowboy hat on and everything. He's so funny. At the end of a song (wherever we are), he starts clapping. But, sometimes this John Denver song scares him a bit (why?), and he starts to poochy up a bit (scared, about-to-cry look). But, he still dutifully claps. It looks quite comical. Then he ate lunch while I organized in my kitchen a bit and got supper ready in the crock-pot. Afterwards, we played a bit before his afternoon nap. All in all, it felt like a picturesque "Stay at Home Mom" day, and I felt so blessed. I really do love being a mom and staying home with Luke. I am still working on personal discipline issues (so I don't get stuck blogging all day), but I'm really thankful that I can, for the most part, stay home. I 'm blessed to have a husband who also makes this a priority. Which takes me back to my wonderful husband. I always feel bad for all of the other women in the world who don't have the best husband in the world. Poor things.
