Today is BEAUTIFUL here in Louisville! It's 60 degrees, sunny and a great day to go to the zoo. I have a membership at the zoo so we can go as often as we like and don't feel like we have to stay 6 hours to get our money's worth. So, we just went for a little over an hour, but it was a great little outing. Luke loved seeing the animals so much more than the last time we went. Since it is winter and is cooler out, the animals are much more active. We could hear the seals barking from far away and Luke was pretty interested in seeing what all the comotion was about. When we finally got to the seal/sea lion area, the barking was much louder and Luke didn't know what to think of it. He just clung to his daddy's neck and watched the seals with curiosity.
When we got home I mixed up a batch of oatmeal-raisin cookies before I put Luke down for a nap. He wanted to "help" me, so I pulled up the step-stool and he held the mixer (with a little help from me) and also poured in the oatmeal. (See Exhibit A.) His first time helping me in the kitchen! It was fun. There's oatmeal all over the kitchen floor now, but I have to scrub the floor anyways.
I know most of you are in a much more northern, colder climate. I hope you find a way this week to get out of the winter blues too!

Katie,
It looks like you and Luke had a wonderful day. He sounds so precious! Victoria loves to help me in the kitchen too! I love spending that time with her.
Our weather is beautiful here too! Even the golf courses are open. Too funny - it is usually snowy and freezing here in the middle of January.
Have a great day with your little boy!

Katie,
We too are experiencing some warmer temperatures. Too bad the sun in Ohio rarely shines. :( I took Chloe out for a brisk walk to the library. The nice thing about being outside with Chloe is that she usually sleeps hard when we get inside. Praise the Lord for naps! I'm actually going to curl up on my favorite chair and read a book this afternoon. Ahhhhhhh, the leisurely life of a stay at home mom. :)
How did the cookies turn out?

Alicia - That's so nice that you live close enough to walk to the library. So do I, which reminds me that we should go soon! It is another nice day here, and we spent some time outside earlier this afternoon on the slide in our backyard.
Yes, sometimes the life of a SAHM seems leisurely - I feel guilty about it sometimes. But, then I have nights like last night, when Luke woke up five times, for some unknown reason. :)
The cookies turned out really good! Actually, I didn't finish baking them all yet; I'm going to finish them tonight. :)
