I'm spending my last night on Longview Avenue. Tomorrow morning we're loading up the truck, and I have high hopes of being on the road by early or mid afternoon. We really did get a lot done last week, and things were pretty much packed up by Saturday morning. Once we get all of the furniture out tomorrow morning, it will be easier to get all the other little stuff gathered up. Chris parents got here this evening, so they'll be a big help; and a friend offered to watch Lukity (our new nickname for him) tomorrow morning, which will be a HUGE help.
I've felt mixed feelings today. I'm hapy to be moving closer to family and all of the fun that entails. I'm happy to move out of this stifling heat. It's so humid; it feels like a rainforest out there! We broke down and trurned on the AC. I couldn't take it any more.
But I'm so, SO sad to be leaving my friends here - mostly people I love making music with at church, and especially my friend and neighbor Julie. Julie, if you ever read this, I love you so much! God sent you to me to meet an need for a close friend of like mind and heart here in Lou. Caitlyn will forever be Luke's first best friend and sweetheart. I pray that we will keep in touch, and one day our children will marry and we'll be family! :) LOL
So, pray for us tomorrow. Pray that Luke will fare well with this transition. Pray for safety as we load and carry everything down a flight of stairs (especially the piano!). Pray that the rain will stay away (30% chance). Pray that we'll have safety on the road.
I'll leave you with these adorable pics of Luke and Caitlyn in the tub on Thursday night.

I'll be praying for you as you move today. I'll especially be praying that Luke will adjust well. We are moving later this week, so I can definately relate to your mixed feelings. I already know Kara is going to have difficulty (she has something like asthma everytime we go away for more than a couple of days). If you can get his room set up first so he has all of his familiar things that will help a lot.
KT- We'll be praying that your move goes smoothly and that God will give you the strength and grace you need.
Praying for you guys today, dear. Especially about that piano and Lukity's adjustment. Can't wait to see pix of your new home?
oh the joys of moving... Thinking of you today...as the weather is hot, hot, hot...even here in michigan. Unbelieveable isn't it? We'll be praying for the move today and everyone's adjusting to the new surroundings...esp. luke. (You won't be that far from us. It's about 1hr. 45min. to the detroit airport from where we live.)
Hi Katie! Well, I'm jumping in a little late on this, but I wanted to say that I too hope your trip goes well and that everyone adjusts smoothly to your new home. :) I second Tracy's suggestion of getting Luke's room set up quickly so he has familiar things around him; I'm sure that will help.
Congrats to Chris on his graduation! It sounds like you had a full last few weeks, but I'm glad you could go off for a getaway and relax last weekend. :) I dream of the day when we will be able to do that again . . .
Safe Travels to you!! Amanda is right, it's sweltering here. Yesterday was 94 with (I'm almost positive) 94% humidity!!! Hopefully we will be able to see you at Nate & Lissa's MI reception July 15. I think mom sent out the invites; hopefully one finds its way to you with the move. Let me know if you want details!
Praying for you and thinking about you the last few days!! I hope Luke is doing well!!!!
I am hoping that you have made it to Michigan by now. How is everyone adjusting? I know here it was a really warm weekend to be moving. After I read your blog I smiled, cause it would seem the heat followed you from Kentucky! Can't wait to get together with you sometime this summer!!
