Wow, have I been disconnected from the "outside" world for the past week! I'm still up at my parents in Dunbar, WI - enjoying many things! I have to say, the relaxation has been on the back burner for the week as my mom and I stripped the wallpaper from her back hall, primed the walls, painted the ceilings, and finally I set to work on painting. My mom wanted a technique using 3 parts glaze and 1 part paint. After rolling it on the walls, you take a sponge to it. It actually looks pretty nice! After about 15 hours of work, I finished it all this morning! I'm thankful to be done, and I think my mom is happy with the outcome. I will post pictures when I have more time.
Before the project began, we had a great weekend with Janelle and her little brood. I'm smitten. Gone. In love. These kids have my heart. And I miss them already! I can't wait to show you the pictures. Even though there's four of them, they each have their own special personality. And when the older kids get a little crazy and you feel like pulling your hair out, you just hold Anna for a few minutes and she makes you smile and feel warm and fuzzy. :) Really. The fuzzy sensation is there. Maybe it's her fuzzy hair. So cute. So sad I live 14 hours away from them.
It's wonderful to be with my family. The only downside is wishing Chris could be here to. This is an exciting time for him as a Tiger's fan. The Tigers are 2-0 in the series against the Oakland A's. The exciting news is that Chris has a ticket to this afternoon's game! He will be in the cheering crowd at Comerica Park today. All by himself. He's pretty pumped. He'll be wearing my grandpa's black and read checked mittens to cheer the Tigers on. Pretty special to me. My grandpa LOVED baseball and was at Comerica Park with us the summer we got married (though the game got rained out). Of course, Chris isn't wearing the mittens for this sentimental reason, but I think it's cool anyways. Fortunately, my grandpa would much rather be raising the roof with praises to Jesus in heaven, so that works out nicely. :)
Well, I rambling. I have no internet access at my parents' house, so I'm sitting at April's desk (of twopeas fame). Hope I can catch up on all your happenings soon.

You are doing a great thing for your mom. I know she appreciates it. Katydid to the rescue! I think Luke could have done wonders with a sponge and paint on the wall.
