Strange Day, Typical Night

Chris and I both woke up feeling sick to our stomaches.  Chris was the one who actually threw up, so he won the hall pass to stay home from church and get out of his commitments.  (Though I will admit that he did seem to be sicker than I was, especially considering the fact that I'm sitting here watching Survivor and eating holiday nougats.  My stomach was calmed down by the afternoon; I just felt tired and weak all day.)

So . . . we survived the day, despite  both parentals being under the weather, Simon's fussiness and Luke's usual wild craziness.  I don't know what's going on with my little sweetie-pie Simon lately, but something seems to be making him unhappy, and he's sleeping a ton.  Who knows?  Maybe it's teething; or maybe he has a tummy ache too . . .

So, once the boys and I got home from church and Simon was down for his LONG Sunday nap,we all kinda just vegged.  Luke started out on the wild side, but calmed down enough to give Chris and me a break.  He is just loving playing with our Little People lately.  We got Simon the Little People Nativity set for his birthday, and Luke likes to add all of the zoo and farm animals into the mix.  I think it's adorable, interesting and so insightful the way Luke "sets up" the nativity set compared to my way.  Typically, a manger scene is set up with the figures and animals facing out.  But Luke sets Joseph, Mary and Baby Jesus in the stable (like normal), but then all 30-some animals that we have are crowded as close to the stable as they can be - all facing the figure symbolizing our Messiah, Savior, and Lord of Lords.  I have yet to get a picture of it, but it is really priceless.  Isn't that just like kids?

Ok, so I felt like it was a strange day - Chris and I stumbling about.  But come 7:00 tonight, I wanted to watch Survivor's season finale, and Luke was no where near ready for bed.  So, I told him he could watch too, but he had more fun pulling some clothes out of my closet and playing store and dressing up.  At one point, he had black tights on, athletic shorts over top, a muscle shirt, and a blouse of mine (which looked WAY too big on his little body).  He added a tie of Chris' to the mix and asked me to tie it.  It was hilarious, but not altogether abnormal for this son of mine.  He is an imaginative, funny nut and so irresistable.

So, that's it.  Nothing too interesting and no pictures.  Hopefully I will make time for that this week.  I would love to change my blog's "skin;" it looks so fallish, and I'm totally into the spirit of Christmas!  My tree is absolutely beautiful this year; I had the sweetest time tonight rocking Simon in the living room with only the Christmas lights on.  Hope you're enjoying some calm and peaceful moments this Christmas too!

We've been through the flu here too though unfortunately it hit our little guy. Glad it's over and done with! Now on to the next winter bug. :) Sorry to hear about Simon's fussiness. Clive's been waking up at times too but he always goes back to sleep after some rocking. One of these days I'm going to let him cry it out. Not sure when. :) A happy Christmas to you too!
