This is what I had to tell myself when Luke asked me to tell him about the day he was born and the telling of such story led to his asking the dreaded question: How exactly did I come out? Um, say what???
This was followed by some very uncomfortable questions about the difference between boys and girls.
Breathe.
Hee, hee, whooooooo.
I explained to him about the stork, of course, but he didn't seem to buy it. (No, I did not actually tell him about a stork.)
Any suggestions? resources? experiences?

I've heard "How and When to talk to your kids about sex" by Breana and Stan Jones is a really good place to start (http://www.amazon.com/When-Tell-Your-Kids-About/dp/160006017X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312243094&sr=8-1). I know they also have a line of picture books for varying age groups to set the stage so the *big talk* is not just one talk but a series of steps. We haven't had any interest/curiosity about such subjects yet, whew! Let us know how it goes with Luke!
I will look into that book; thanks! I am not planning a big talk anytime soon. :) It seems that he has just recently started realizing the difference between boys and girls. :)
Yikes - not there yet and glad, Haha! But I did take the class at my church called "Entrusted With a Child's Heart". The Pastor's wife from Harvest , Betsy Corning, leads it. She encourages parents to make it an open conversation. So basically, Luke just asked you about that one part - so when he asks to explain that in the most basic simple(perhaps even medical) way, and that's all for that conversation. But then when we asks another question, to answer that one. That way they don't feel embarrassed to ask questions went hey think of them or (gasp) when friends bring things up that they don't understand. She also encouraged having at least one good sit down special time with each of your children to talk about the whole thing with picture books or whatever and then allowing the book to be around for them to look at later and ask you more questions if need be. Not sure if that helps, but I have to admit, I'm a little nervous about it all too! Trusting God will give us all wisdom at the right time.
